How to Maintain and Clean Pageant Crowns

Category: Care & Maintenance

A pageant crown that is properly cared for will last through years of events, photoshoots, and travel. Here is how to keep yours looking its best:

Cleaning: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the stones after each use. Avoid water, alcohol, or chemical cleaners — they can loosen the setting and dull the crystal finish. If the crown needs deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with plain water and dry immediately.

Storage: Always store crowns upright on a padded stand or in a lined box. Never stack crowns on top of each other — stones can scratch the metal settings of the crown below. Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods, as UV exposure can affect the stone coating over time.

Transport: When traveling to pageants, use a hard-shell case with custom foam inserts. Our crowns are built with flexible chain-link construction, which absorbs minor impacts better than rigid metal frames, but a good travel case is still worth the investment.

Inspection: Before each pageant, check that all stones are secure. Give the crown a gentle shake — if you hear any rattling, a stone may be loose. We offer quick repairs on all our crowns.

With proper care, a PAI Crown piece will maintain its brilliance for years. Every crown is built with individually claw-set stones, which stay secure longer than glued settings.
